The Prime News (Oct 2, 2020) : World Bank awaits decision on $ 12 billion for coronavirus vaccination in developing countries

The World Bank is awaiting a decision from the Board of Directors to provide $ 12 billion for the supply of covand-19 vaccine to developing countries, said President David Malpas.
He said the bank aims to meet the capacity of the vaccine in poor and developing countries where the cholera virus is spreading rapidly.
“Our main goal is to change the direction of the epidemic in low- and middle-income countries,” he said, adding that the bank’s board is expected to make a decision next October.
The high demand for covand-19 vaccine is also said to motivate vaccine companies to start production.
According to Reuters, international partners have pledged $ 160 billion to increase the availability of CVD-19 vaccine in developing countries.
