Ethiopian long distance runner Sura Kitata Tola Ethiopian wins London Marathon,

Another Ethiopian, Sisay Lema, finished third in the London Marathon.

Shura won the race with a time of 2 hours, 5 minutes and 41 microseconds.


The highly anticipated winner, Eliud Kepchoge, finished 8th.

Kenya’s Vincent Kipchumba finished second, while the other Ethiopians were surprised, with Mule Wasihun and Tamrat Tola ranked 4th to 6th.

In the women’s London Marathon, Kenya’s Brigid Cossay won the race in 2 hours, 18 minutes and 58 microseconds.

Sarah Hull of the United States came in second with a time of 2 hours, 22 minutes and 01 microseconds, followed by another Kenyan Ruth Cepengetich.
